Appeal for major energy storage system rejected

BBC Science reported that Plans for the battery system site near the Devon-Dorset border have again been dismissed.

The same report said that Proposals to install a major battery energy storage system have been rejected after an appeal by the developer was dismissed.

It also noted that Sky UK Development's plans for the battery system site (BESS) on land near Raymond's Hill in Axminster were refused by East Devon District Council's planning committee last year.

The account added that the applicant appealed the decision with the Planning Inspectorate, proposing changes to mitigate concerns around groundwater contamination and the risk of battery units catching fire.
