A Second Proxy Advisory Firm Is Suing Oklahoma Over Its New Anti-ESG Law

Oklahoma Watch reported that a second proxy advisory firm has filed suit against Oklahoma’s new Proxy Advisor Transparency Act, joining ISS in seeking a federal injunction before the law takes effect November 1.

The same report said that a second company is challenging a new state law that regulates proxy advisers when they oppose public company management on shareholder resolutions.

It also noted that the law, which takes effect Nov. 1, is a model bill that four other states passed this year.

The account added that Republican lawmakers in those states said the bill was meant to address shareholder resolutions advocating for environmental, social and governance goals.
